Critically acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Louis Baker returns with a nationwide headline tour celebrating his forthcoming second studio album, Trouble, released on 9 October.
To celebrate the release of Trouble, Baker will embark on a 9-date nationwide tour across Aotearoa throughout October and November, performing songs from the new album alongside favourites from across his catalogue. The tour begins with a series of intimate solo performances before expanding into full-band shows.
Written, produced and arranged by Baker across 2024 and 2025 from his studio in Titahi Bay, Wellington, Trouble is rooted in timeless songwriting, blending retro-soul influences with contemporary production. Across nine songs, the album unfolds as Baker's most assured work to date, balancing social observation with reflections on love, resilience and the work of confronting himself.
Over the past decade, Baker has established himself as one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most distinctive contemporary soul artists. Renowned for his captivating live performances, expressive guitar playing and rich, soulful vocals, he has built a loyal international following through sheer authenticity and craft. He has toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe, the UK and Aotearoa, sharing stages with artists including Jordan Rakei, Allen Stone and Jamie Lidell, and most recently joined Fat Freddy's Drop on their international tours across Europe, Australia and the UK.
This nationwide tour is possible thanks to NZ On Air funding and the support of the NZ Music Commission.
